A MyRacing account and published lap times from a supported source. Pulse is not required.
Find and save the right results
Open Racing → Rider Journal and enter the results-import area. Choose the source you have:
- Rider search: use the published name, number or identifier, along with the year and country where the event took place.
- Event search: find the event, then identify your results within it.
- Results link: paste a link from a supported timing source.
- PDF: upload a supported report of individual lap times, no larger than 16 MB. A classification showing only positions and best times cannot supply a lap-by-lap history.
If a search returns nothing, check the published spelling of your name, year and event country. Try another supported catalogue or a direct results link. Source coverage and searchable years vary by provider.
- Confirm the rider, event and date in the results. Check the identity before selecting histories, particularly where names are similar. One publication may combine several outings or a whole day.
- Preview the laps and select the histories to keep. This is the point to check that the publication contains the riding you intended to import.
- Confirm the circuit layout and event time zone. Check any circuit selected automatically. If the report covers several days or leaves the date unclear, confirm the actual riding date. Associating a motorcycle or an existing MyRacing event is optional.
- Review messages about existing sessions, then confirm the import. With a Pulse session already present for that day and track, the results are kept as Journal history without adding another session to your statistics. If a manual session is flagged as a possible match, inspect it before confirming a separate session.
- Check the completion message and open the saved results. A successful import reports the number of histories and lap entries saved. Open the entry and confirm the rider, date and circuit against the publication.
The task is complete when the intended results are saved and can be opened in your archive. No additional refresh is needed to finish a successful import. If nothing was saved, use the import message to identify what needs checking before trying again.
Check the saved history and pace analysis
Open the entry in your Journal archive. Its rider, event, year, provider and track filters search saved histories, not new results from timing services. Leave the filters empty to see the whole archive.
Compare the best eligible lap with the median and pace chart. The median is the middle of the analysed times; the chart shows whether that pace was repeated or changed during the run. Where usable sector times were published, Journal can also combine the best sectors into a theoretical lap time. That is a calculated combination, not necessarily a lap you rode.
If the analysis includes fewer laps than the archive, read the exclusion notes. Pit entries, missing times and unusually long laps can remain saved while being excluded from pace calculations. Missing sectors depend on the source data. Historical weather needs sufficient location and timing information and represents modelled conditions, not a measurement of the asphalt.
Optional: check for a newer publication
- Use the refresh action for saved online results when you want to check whether the provider has published changes. The history you already imported remains available during the update.
- Read the result of that update. A failed refresh does not undo an earlier successful import. Check the operation named in the message before deciding what to repeat.
If you are waiting for more results, the automatic-update and pace-settings section offers publication checks every two minutes. These checks look for changed publications; they are not live timing. They are unnecessary for reading an older entry.
A PDF has no online publication to refresh. Import a newer report when one becomes available. Reimporting the same recognised source record updates the existing entry; another source or published identity may require a duplicate check.
Optional: exclude a long stop from pace analysis
- Expand the automatic-update and pace-settings section and find the long-lap threshold. The default is 600 seconds, or ten minutes.
- Enter a suitable threshold between 60 and 86,400 seconds, then save the pace settings. Times above it are excluded from pace calculations but stay in the archive.
- Review the recalculated analysis and exclusion notes. Confirm that the entries you intended to exclude remain in the history. Typing a value without saving does not apply it.
Optional: download a copy of one entry
- Open the Journal entry you want to keep a copy of. Confirm its identity before downloading.
- Use the entry’s download-copy action. The copy includes that entry’s histories and available source information, weather and corrections. Check that the download completed in your browser.
To restore a saved copy, use the Journal-copy import action in the archive and select the file. Afterwards, check that the intended history is available. This copy covers the selected Journal entry; Pulse telemetry and the rest of the account need their own backups.
